Understanding match bands
A match band is a review signal for one application against one role. It is not a verdict about a person.
RoleSage calculates an internal application match score from saved application data, candidate profile data, selected activity evidence, role requirements, and alignment information. The product shows that result mainly as a band so users do not over-read tiny numeric differences.
Bands
| Band | What it means |
|---|---|
| Priority Review or Strong Match | Strong alignment. Review closely and validate through evidence and conversation. |
| Promising Match | Meaningful alignment with some gaps or unknowns. |
| Partial Match | Some relevant fit exists, but material gaps remain. |
| Limited Match | Significant gaps are visible in the current application data. |
| Low Match | The saved evidence does not currently show strong alignment. |
What feeds a band
RoleSage uses six dimensions:
- Skills.
- Salary alignment.
- Experience depth and recency.
- Values alignment.
- Profile Strength.
- Hirer-question answers, when the Role Opening includes them.
What to do with a band
Candidates should improve accuracy and evidence, not chase a hidden number. Hirers should use the band as triage, then review the evidence, gaps, interview notes, and human context.
