Skills are missing or hard to find
Symptom
A skill from your resume is missing, or you cannot find the exact skill name in the editor.
How RoleSage handles skills
RoleSage uses a skills taxonomy and known aliases where available. Sometimes the label you use at work is different from the canonical skill label.
Fix steps
- Open Skills.
- Search for the exact skill name.
- If it is not available, search for a close name, acronym, or broader technology family.
- Select the best match and set proficiency and years.
- Link the skill to one or more activities that demonstrate it.
- Save the skill. It should appear in your profile and become stronger when it has evidence.
If the match is close but not exact
Use the closest accurate skill. Do not select a skill that overstates what you can do. A related skill can still support matching as related evidence when the graph can explain the relationship.
