Opening status flow
Statuses you may see
Openings can move through several states during hiring:
- Draft
- Pending approval
- Open
- Shortlisting
- Interviewing
- Offer stage
- Offer accepted
- Closure in progress
- Filled
- Closed filled
- Closed
- On hold
- Reopened
The exact actions available depend on the opening state and your permissions.
Common transitions
- Create or edit the role and opening while it is in draft.
- Submit or approve the opening where your employer workflow requires approval.
- Publish the opening so candidates can apply.
- Move applicants through shortlisting, interviewing, and offer stages.
- Close the opening when hiring ends, when an offer is accepted, or when the role is paused or cancelled.
Closure reminders
When an opening is being closed, review candidate communication and final statuses carefully. The closure flow is designed to avoid leaving applicants in an unclear state.
Troubleshooting
- If an action is missing, check whether the opening is in the expected status.
- If a colleague cannot move an opening, check their access group and employer permissions.
- If an opening should be active again, use the available reopen action rather than creating a duplicate opening.
